Have you ever had someone tell you that you weren’t good enough for something? I’m sure we all have at some point, even in the most subliminal way. It’s a tough place to be surrounded by those that don’t believe in themselves, when you’re moving in the direction of your dreams and ambitions.
I was talking to a co-worker a few months back about how I am going to pursue my dream. He replied with, “Yeah, that’s not a good idea. I tried that before and it didn’t work out for me. I decided to work here instead and stick with something that will just pay the bills.” A while later, another co-worker said to me, “I don’t have anything special about myself. I guess that’s why we all work here, we’re not rock stars.” These words have resonated in my mind for months now. It didn’t anger me to hear these comments, but rather broke my heart.
If only they all knew that there is in fact something special about each one of them. If only they realized how they could each change this world if only they dare. When you slap the label on that you’re ‘not good enough’ or ‘just an average Joe’, you begin to believe that about yourself more and more. You start becoming that label. In the same way, by speaking positively and in faith, you will see your God given dreams come to pass.
Faith has been laid heavily on my heart more than ever lately. The more I think about it, the more I realize just how important it really is. How can we do anything without it? The exact opposite of faith is fear, which is paralyzing to our mind, body and spirit. When we don’t have faith in our dreams, how can we actually expect to see them unfold? We need to have boldness about the dreams The Lord has given us. Boldness is action born out out belief.
It’s time to break the boundaries of what is expected. Speak boldly. Live boldly. You will see a change in your life, I promise! And remember, you are confined only by the walls you build yourself- so dream B I G !
